SHAMOKIN DAM – One local mayor is stepping up, saying he’s willing to marry same sex couples. Shamokin Dam mayor Joe McGranaghan said on Thursday’s On The Mark program, “I will.” Now that the ban on same-sex marriages in Pennsylvania has been overturned, judges and local mayors may be busy officiating. McGranaghan, mayor of Shamokin Dam, was asked if he’ll do same sex weddings. He said, “Yes. As a matter of legality, sure. It’s not illegal in Pennsylvania anymore.
